July 4th Independence Day || Utah Photographer

Today is Independence day and I’m not in the States. I’m currently traveling outside of the country. But my heart is there with my husband and 4th of July hot dogs that I’m missing. ☺

Being raised in Russia we obviously never celebrated this holiday. But I know that a lot of Americans are very patriotic. I don’t know if I ever will feel exactly what it is like to be patriotic. I like living in the States. There are a lot of convenient things here. But I also understand that home is where your loved ones. My husband is in the States, so that is my home then.

However, something that you can’t deny is a feeling of freedom. You can’t describe it to people that haven’t been to the States. But this feeling is always with me when I’m in the States.

As Robert J. McCracken said “We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls.”
