Today people that live in America celebrate Memorial Day. It’s a day dedicated to remembering the men and women who died serving in the United States Armed Forces. This day is a special way to honor those who have helped preserve the freedom. I do not like wars. I’ve never experienced one myself and hope that I never will. Wars leave sadness, broken hearts and tears. But it also brings freedom. As Nelson Mandela said:
“There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.”
Let’s all remember the heroes of the wars around the world who died for us. Remember be grateful. I’m grateful.
